Monday Masters

 This is an opportunity for Martin Howland to host a class so completely different than anything else and delve into the world of specialised dance training at a vocational level.

Whilst technique always sits at the top of the list, this class will be built around creativity, athleticism, repertoire, choreography and virtuosity. 

This will be the highest standard class on our timetable and will combine the many qualities of professional training to drive our students abilities way beyond their current limits. 

Our aim is quite simple, to produce the highest and most technically accomplished dancers by the age of 18, who have experience of working across the multiple disciplines of classical ballet! 

Each Term will consist of a different focus allowing us to concentrate on several different subject matters throughout the academic year including advanced Pirouettes, Allegro & Adage, Virtuosity, Pointe Work & Pointe Work Repertoire, Advanced Enchainments, Solo Practice, Group Repertoire, Tricks (virtuosity), Pas De Deux, Modern Ballet Repertoire. The possibilities for these classes are limitless! 

Plus we will also be having guest teachers throughout the year as well delivering workshops in various styles of ballet that will enrich our students abilities and develop their Dance IQ. 

Ballet is not just Swan Lake & Sleeping Beauty, a modern day professional dancer must be well versed in all forms and styles of technical dance and we will use these sessions to take associated training to a brand new level of excellence. 

Each class will begin with a warm-up and then we will get straight into the work. Whilst technique will always sit at the top of our agenda, these sessions will be different than our current classes which fully embrace the need for process and general technical development. 

Our new Monday Masters provides us with the chance to fully focus on the more flamboyant, adventurous, athletic & artistic segments of class and professional repertoire. 

Term 1 for instance will focus on the various forms of pirouettes, from fouettés to grand pirouettes, to turns on diagonal or ménage, coda turns and so much more. Martin knows and understands the levels of his dancers and their capabilities so therefore has a unique perspective into their own individualised growth and potential.

This is an elite specialised class for students 11-18. Martin will challenge students based on their current age and level. Martin has an honour train every student responsibility and safely. 

He will not go beyond a students current skill set. For instance - taking a student who cannot do more than 4 inconsistent fouettés on demi-pointe to 32 on full-pointe is not going to happen. Its about organic growth and strengthening the foundations in order to accomplish greater feats of athleticism and artistry.
